There are three common processes for forming carbon fiber products, namely: carbon fiber compression molding, vacuum autoclave molding, and fiber winding molding. The molding temperature refers to the mold temperature required for the carbon fiber material during molding, according to the process requirements, and the carbon fiber material. The rate of melting, flow, and crosslinking of the resin has a decisive influence, which directly determines the quality of the carbon fiber product.

Under normal circumstances, if the temperature of the mold rises within a certain temperature range, the material will have better fluidity, and the speed of cross-linking curing will be accelerated, thereby improving production efficiency. However, if the temperature is too high, the crosslinking of the material will start prematurely, and the curing speed will be too fast. It will also cause the cross-linking reaction of the material to start prematurely and the curing speed is too fast, resulting in different curing of the inner and outer layers of the material in the cavity, and the surface material is hardened first. When the inner layer is solidified, the low molecular weight generated by the crosslinking reaction is difficult to be outward. Volatilization will cause swelling, cracking and warping of carbon fiber products, and will also have an impact on the performance of carbon fiber products. When the temperature is too low, the fluidity of the material is lowered, the curing speed is slowed, the crosslinking reaction is not sufficiently performed, and the strength of the product is lowered, and the surface layer which is incompletely cured by low temperature cannot withstand the internal pressure, so swelling occurs.
 
In order to control the molding temperature, the carbon fiber molding process often uses a special mold temperature machine for composite molding. The molding process is mainly four steps of preheating-feeding-clamping-cure-release, and the requirements of the carbon fiber mold temperature machine are higher. Therefore, the carbon fiber mold temperature machine not only heats but also needs cooling function.
